I was hoping to be able to write...

I was hoping to be able to write that pre-planning application consultations with Councillors and neighbours have now all been completed and our second application submitted – BUT sadly no.

After a conversation between our planning consultant (Peter Rowan) and the Fareham Borough Council Planning Officer it became apparent that further discussions with the Planning Office were necessary. Although the Planning Office supported our original application, they would not necessarily support our new application which incorporated amendments addressing the Planning Committee’s refusal reasons.

A meeting between our consultants and the Planning Officer is scheduled for the 29th April, where our amendments will be discussed and hopefully we can secure their support again. (Although their support did not secure planning permission on the last occasion, without their support the task is even more difficult.)

Once amendments have been discussed with the Planning Office, consultations with Councillors and neighbours can follow.

Please continue to pray for wisdom, patience and clarity.

This process is proving to be a longer and more costly journey than we anticipated, meanwhile our need for more room as a church continues to impact much of what we do.

It is true that ‘it is not about a building but our hearts’ - but some positive movement forward would be helpful!
